Giancarlo Carli, Professor of Physiology at the University of Siena has recently published:

 

Defence from Invertebrates to Mammals: Focus on Tonic Immobility. Progress in Brain Research. Amsterdam. Elsevier Company, 2022, 348 pp.

The book, written in collaboration with Professor Francesca Farabollini contains 13 chapters which, drawing on all evidence available, provide an accurate update of the subject matter along with new hypotheses and interpretations. A special focus is on the research Professor Carli has carried out with Louis Lefebvre, McGill University professor and distinguished expert in animal behaviour, as well as novelist and painter, and frequent guest speaker of the past Siena-Toronto Centre at the University of Siena.
